Character Information
Name: Minato Arisato
Fandom: Persona 3
Canonpoint: March 5, 2010
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Physical Description: [ X ] [ X ]
History: [ History ]
Personality: Minato is one of your usual silent protagonist with the exception of his battle cries during Shadow fights. Despite the fact that he is a silent protagonist, he does show some personality in his actions and the choices he can make when being played in the game. He's quiet and keeps to himself, not butting into conversations until someone directs a comment to him. He's very calm and takes dangerous situations with a level head. He's probably a character that could go unnoticed if he wanted to be.
Just like most people in Persona games, Minato has problems of his own. A huge accident happened when he was ten, involving shadow attacks, and it ended up killing his parents right before his eyes. Because of this, he doesn't really see death as a scary thing for himself. The death of his parents did sadden him, but it didn't stop him from living a somewhat normal life. He knows how to take care of himself, and he doesn't really rely on other people. He puts himself in harm's way many times after joining SEES. He has no fear when guns are involved. Unlike the other members of SEES that look uncomfortable when using an evoker, he uses one without flinching. As you can see, that would be very uncomfortable for most people, but Minato doesn't care. Even when first using one when his dorm was being invaded by shadows, he lifts up the evoker and places it against his head without anyone even explaining and pulls the trigger causing his Persona to come out for the first time.
Minato can sometimes come off as a laid back and lazy character. He doesn't put himself out there. When someone yells at him he just takes it and lets them vent all of their anger at him. He only really does things when someone asks him to. Even in the game during classes, the teacher will go through their lesson and you'll have the choice to let him pay attention or just fall asleep. He tends to sleep a lot in this game. Also, when someone hasn't asked him to hang out on the weekend, he tends to spend his time that isn't sleeping playing video games like MMORPGs literally all day until you have to go back to sleep. He actually gets to have a social link with someone this way.
Along with being laid back and sleepy a lot, he also eats a lot, and never gains any weight. He has a really fast metabolism. A lot of his social links revolve around going to different food joints too. There's a lot of fast food and other dining places on Tatsumi Port Island. One of Minato's social links actually starts because he can appreciate food as much as this boy who dubbed himself the Gourmet King and it ends with him passing on the title to Minato. They bond over food and their friendship grows deeper. So even though he sleeps a lot he can still pack on food like a bear before hibernating and still look the same.
Despite the fact that he seems to be so reserved and quiet around others and doesn't put himself out there, it doesn't mean that he doesn't care for others. The whole game kind of shows what the power of friendship can really do. It draws out a strong power, and Minato definitely earned it. He may not care much for his own life and his own dangerous situations, but whenever one of his friends is in danger he leaps ahead to go save them. He wants to keep them safe at any cost. This kind of reckless behavior is probably why he was appointed the field leader during missions against the shadows. As the field leader, his teammates trust and respect him. Out of everyone in SEES, he seemed to be the one most qualified to lead them. He naturally has the qualities to be a good leader and leads the team through any trouble they face.
Every social link he makes with a person and maxes out, he has to think of what they want to hear most. He has to think what would make them happy, even if it's just listening to them complaining. The people he bonds with go to him for guidance and understanding. Every time he bonds with them and makes their friendship a little nicer, he's steps and steps closer to helping them become happier with their lives. So even if he doesn't look like he cares and just sticks back while things happen, he really does. He'd put his life on the line to save any of his friends. Because of Minato's ability to wear different masks when talking to various others, people find it easy to grow close to him.
On December 31st, one of Minato's friends Ryoji approaches him and is armed with grim news. Ryoji tells him that the end of the world is coming and there is no way to stop it. Because Ryoji cares so much about Minato and their friendship, he gives him the option to kill him. Killing Ryoji would mean that Minato and the rest of the SEES members would be able to live the last remaining months they have oblivious to what would happen and they wouldn't remember any of the things involving the shadows or personas that happened. The alternative option would be to let Ryoji live and be aware of every thing that's happening and be aware of the fall. Minato decides to opt out of killing Ryoji and instead do whatever it takes to defeat the undefeatable Nyx, the bringer of the fall. Minato's choice here shows how loyal he is to not just his friends, but to humanity as a whole. With his friends encouragement, and all the social links he made and finished the year he was here, he was able to defeat Nyx. Unfortunately the price that it came with was his own life. He knew it would cost him his own life, but the lives of his friends and everyone else was far more important to him so he gave up his life easily. Prior to fighting Nyx, the members of SEES promised to all meet up on the roof of their school on graduation day.
After everything that happened, the other members of SEES besides Aigis and maybe Minato seemed to have forgotten all the things they went through. The time skips to a couple days before graduation day and Minato gets to walk around the halls at school and around the city talking to everyone and hearing about how much Minato has changed their lives. The day of graduation, Minato and Aigis talked and stayed on the roof with each other. Something happened that triggered the other members to remember and they wall ran up to the roof immediately before Minato fell asleep. He held onto his consciousness long enough to be able to keep this promise to meet with his friends this one last time before he finally fell asleep for good. He cared so much about the SEES members and he wanted to be able to keep this promise to them no matter what.
Abilities: In the world of Persona 3 there is this extra hour that normal people don't know about called the Dark hour. It's an hour between midnight and 1 o'clock. During this hour monsters known as shadows come out and most people change into coffins to keep them safe from the monsters. Minato and his fellow team members of SEES don't change like the rest of the people do and have the ability to summon these things called Personas. Persona's are like summoning ones inner self out, and they have the ability to fight and defeat shadows.
Minato is one of the more special persona users. He has the Wild-Card ability which means unlike the others he can summon many different personas while most persona users only have the one. For the SEES, they have these items called evokers ( They are like guns but don't shoot bullets). When a persona user uses the evokers in battle, it puts them in a certain mindset to draw out their persona.
Not only can Minato summon persona's, but he's also skilled with weapons too. He can basically use any weapon his party uses with the exception of gun like Aigis and knifes/kunai like Koromaru. The weapon he's best at using though are one handed swords.
Minato is also pretty good at making unbreakable bonds (Maxing out social links whatwhat ) with people despite his rather laid back and reserved personality. It's the heart and caring he has inside him that he may not always show that leads people to bond with him.

Third Person Sample: So... this is where he really woke up? This wasn't Gekkoukan High. It seems like Aigis was no where to be found either. What happened to him when he fell asleep? The last thing he remembered was lying his head in the lap of his friend Aigis. They were waiting for the rest of their friends to show up, weren't they? And Aigis was crying too. He was trying to wipe away the tears and... He stared down at his hand where a piece of paper was clutched. There was a nice red ribbon tied around it too. He frowns a little and unties the note.
He reads it to himself quietly. "Welcome to Inugami High. We're so happy to have you here. Here is your locker number and combination!... Well I suppose that answers one of my questions," he mumbled to himself softly.
He looked up and noticed there were students around him. It was... really hard to make out their faces though, the teacher's face as well. And what was that language? It was really hard for Minato to concentrate on it. He sighed to himself. Maybe he was still dreaming. Maybe when he woke up everything would make sense again. When the class seemed like it was over, Minato got out of his seat and glanced around the classroom. He couldn't quite put his finger on it, but something... felt odd about this place. The room felt foreign to him. The windows were covered in designs so red they almost looked like blood. It was almost like he was reliving the Dark Hour all over again.
He went to leave the classroom to roam the halls. He reached down to put his headphones on when he realized nothing was there. Not only was his mp3 player missing, but these weren't even his regular school clothes. What kind of mess did he get himself into? Letting out a quiet groan, he headed off down the hallway.
"I hope this place at least has something to eat," he said to himself. It didn't seem like any other student was paying attention anyway. He wandered the halls for what felt like such a long time. He was almost growing tired of it. He wondered if this really was a dream or not. The longer he walked the more it felt real to him. So if all of this was real, where were his friends? Maybe he shouldn't wish for them to be here. They were better off back home, weren't they? Had he caused something this weird to happen? He didn't really care if he was forced to stay here, but if he had caused his friends to be stuck here or harmed, he would never forgive himself.
Giving up on finding anything in this school, he sits himself down on the floor in a hallway that seemed empty. "If they are here, I hope they're together," he said quietly.
If they were here, he bets Junpei was telling ghost stories about some rumor he obviously just made up to freak the girls out. Yukari would be freaking out and yelling at him to quiet down, and Akihiko would just be encouraging the actions with his laughter, the others joining in while Mitsuru gave them that "You guys are being ridiculous" look. He smiled a small smile to himself and shook his head. 'Yes, they would be alright if they stuck together,' he thought to himself.
He closed his eyes with that smile still on his face and leaned his head against the wall. When he woke up he would be with his friends again. He realized that thinking that was just a silly thought, but it made him feel a little better. With the thoughts of his friends in his mind, he drifted off to sleep.
